Coronavirus Self-Employment Grants

If you are self-employed or a member of a partnership and have been adversely affected by Coronavirus you will potentially qualify for a Self-Employment Income Support Scheme Grant.

You can make a claim for the grant at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-a-grant-through-the-self-employment-income-support-scheme.

You will require the following details to make a claim:

  • Self Assessment Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR)
  • National Insurance number
  • Government Gateway user ID and password
  • Bank details

Fourth Grant – Due to open late April 2021

The grant will cover a three-month period from 1 February 2021 until 30 April 2021. The grant will be worth 80% of three months’ average trading profits, paid out in a single installment and capped at £7,500 in total.

The grant will be open to claims late April 2021.

Self-employed individuals must have filed a 2019/20 tax return through self-assessment by midnight on 2 March 2021 to be eligible for the fourth grant.

Fifth Grant – Not yet open

A “fifth and final” SEISS grant will cover May to September 2021. Those whose turnover has fallen by 30% or more will receive the full grant worth 80%, capped at £7,500. Those whose turnover has fallen by less than 30% will receive a 30% grant, capped at £2,850.

The final grant can be claimed from late July 2021.

Third Grant – Open from 30 November 2020

The third grant application was closed on 3 March 2021.

Second Grant – NOW CLOSED

The second grant application was closed on 19 October 2020.

First Grant – NOW CLOSED

The first grant application was closed on 13 July 2020.
